Description: Lithograph of Thomas Baldwin. 1881. On December 23, 1753, Thomas Baldwin was born in Bozrah, Connecticut. In 1780 he was converted and became a Baptist. He eventually became pastor of the Baptist church in Canaan, New Hampshire. After serving seven years in this capacity he became pastor of the Second Baptist Church in Boston. Baldwin became editor of the Massachusetts Baptist Magazine in 1803. Among his published works defending Baptists was A Series of Letters published in 1810. He died in August of 1826.
