Scholarships
to Promote Diversity in Theological Librarianship
ATLA is pleased to offer up to five $1,000 scholarships to students
from underrepresented minority populations to attend the University of
Illinois at Urbana-Champaign LEEP course, Theological Librarianship (LIS
590TL).
These funds are supplied by generous ATLA members who donate to the
Scholarships and Grants Annual Fund. For more information and to support this fund, click here.
Eligibility
Applicant
must be American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian, Black/African American,
Hispanic/Latino or Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander.
Applicant
must be an ATLA member in good standing.
Application
Process
Applications
are available on an ongoing basis, but applications must be received by
June 1 preceding the course offering.
Submit an email or letter containing the following information:
- What diversity means to you
- Why your voice has not yet been heard
- How your voice will add diversity to the Theological Librarianship
course
- How you will increase diversity in your immediate context
- How you plan to increase diversity and participate fully within the
American Theological Association.
