Preservation for Archives and Libraries Interest Group Bylaws
There shall be a steering committee consisting of four members. These
shall consist of a chairperson, a vice-chair, and two members at large.
The terms of office for each shall be one year (from one annual meeting
until the next). Normally the vice-chair shall succeed the chairperson in
office without further election. The other members (and, when a special
election is required, the chairperson) shall be elected by a simple
majority of those full or retired members attending the annual group
business meeting.
Nominations and/or volunteers for the steering committee will be
accepted by the assembled group at the annual meeting or by written
request posted to the chairperson at least thirty days in advance of the
annual meeting.
It shall be the duty of the chairperson to conduct the business of the
group, to issue reports, to plan a yearly budget request and, in
consultation with the other members of the steering committee, to plan
each annual meeting.
