American Tract Society. Annual report of the American Tract Society
Instituted in 1825, the Society is one of the earliest publishing bodies in the United States (resulting from a merger between the New York Religious Tract Society and the New England Tract Society). A nonprofit, nonsectarian, evangelical organization, its chief purpose is the proclamation of Jesus Christ through Christian tracts and related materials at reasonable prices. American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions. Year book
The ABCFM was the first American foreign mission agency; established 1810. Congregational in orientation, while accepting missionaries of various denominational backgrounds.
