The Southwest Area Theological Library Association (SWATLA) exists to promote cooperation and exchange of ideas among libraries in the Southwestern United States. The only requirement for participation is that a library be responsible for theological/religious studies collections. Participants include but are not limited to members of the American Theological Library Association (ATLA) in the region. SWATLA meets twice a year. Through these meetings and less formal contacts engendered by such meetings, the organization seeks to foster professional growth, institutional cooperation and the dissemination and sharing of information. A history of SWATLA has been written by Mikail McIntosh-Doty and is available as a Word document SWATLA_History.doc For more information about SWATLA, please contact: Laura
