Dixon Pentecostal Research Center

Program: Gospel Music in Tennessee

This program will feature gospel music that was recorded and/or published in Tennessee. 1. a lecture - Dr Donald LeRoy on early Pentecostal music
  2. a "how to" - Jackie Royal describing our work to preserve early "convention" song books and

SPRING MEETING OF TTLA, April 23, 1999

We invite you to the Spring Meeting of TTLA, to be held at Vanderbilt Divinity School, hosted by the staff of the Vanderbilt Divinity Library. Our event for the day is a scanning workshop, led by Christine Wiseman of SOLINET.

DIRECTIONS:

*Nashville is on Central Time. Be sure to adjust your travel plans to accommodate a time change, if necessary.

*From the north, take I-265 to I-40 east to exit 209B. Turn right on Broadway.

*From the east or south, take I-40 west to exit 209A. Turn left on Broadway.

*From the west take I-40 east to exit 209B. Turn right on Broadway (US 70 S). Follow Broadway and veer right to West End Avenue.

Continue on West End to the stop light at 21st Avenue. Turn left onto 21st Avenue, and continue until it merges to the right. Continue on 21st as it merges right. Get in the left lane. Turn left onto Scarritt Place (at the stoplight just past the Burger King). Turn into the parking garage on your right. Parking costs $5 per day, and the money is folded and placed in a slot (you will be wise to bring a $5 bill.) The Divinity School is directly across the street from the parking garage. It is next to the library, and has a spire on top of the chapel which is on the street side. Enter at the ground level, and walk up the stairs (or ride the elevator just inside the doors) to the second level. We will meet in Tillet Lounge, on the main hallway across from the cafeteria area.

LUNCH:

We will be eating in the private dining room at the University Club on campus. Please bring $7 for lunch, payable to the treasurer, Eileen Crawford, at the meeting. If you need to bring a check, make it to Vanderbilt Divinity Library. If you are unable to get a check cut in time for the meeting, just mail the payment to Eileen at the library. Reservations are not needed, as we will be eating at the excellent buffet.
