Networking and Education for Library Directors

Because you, in your role as a Director, face special challenges, we’re committed to giving you special resources. We know that the role of a Library Director can be very rewarding and very fulfilling. It also can be very lonely and frustrating. For that reason, the goal of the ATLA Directors Only Community is to provide you with peer wisdom, support and connections designed to help you succeed in what is probably the most challenging job you’ve ever had.

Whether you want to strategize or socialize, participate in the Directors Only discussion list and Community space.

Guidelines for Participation

  • All participants agree to keep postings confidential and respond respectfully. Participants agree not to forward messages posted on the list to non-ATLA members or lists.
  • All known library directors of ATLA member libraries have been added to the list. Should anyone wish to opt out, please email memberrep@atla.com and we will immediately remove your address from the list.
  • New library directors may request access to the list by emailing memberrep@atla.com with the following information: Name, email address, title, and institution name.
