Access and Instruction Librarian

Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary’s Stitt Library is now accepting applications for the position of Access and Instruction Librarian. Responsibilities include managing the part-time desk staff, overseeing all circulation functions (including reserves and inter-library loan), managing the stacks and all public spaces in the library, collaborating with faculty and other staff to provide user training for print and online resources, and conducting reference consultations with students and faculty. The Access and Instruction Librarian is a key part of our five-person staff, serving as the “face of the library” and a primary connection to the Seminary community.

The successful candidate will be part of planning for public service and collection spaces in the renovated Mary and Robert J. Wright Learning and Information Center. In addition, she or he will help plan and execute the move out of the current library building, the creation of a temporary library, and the move back into the completed Learning and Information Center. Construction is expected to begin in early 2020 and be completed in 2021.

Stitt Library serves graduate-level students, Seminary faculty, alumni, local ministers, and members of the general public. The collection includes 100,000 print volumes and extensive electronic resources. We use Voyager as our ILS and EBSCO Discovery Service as our discovery layer.

Estimated start date is June 1, 2019. Application review will begin on March 29, 2019. The position is open until filled.
