Faculty Opening in Library Services & Theological Research

Position Summary

New York Theological Seminary, an urban ecumenical graduate school of theology and ministry in New York City that serves the greater New York metropolitan region, invites applications for a faculty opening in the area of library services and information literacy for theological studies. This is a full-time faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level.  

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have training in library services, skill in teaching students research and writing methods for theological study, and some technological expertise in teaching/learning research tools and online learning. Experience in teaching online courses is desirable. The candidate is also expected to have a doctoral degree in a theological field, related to an area in our curriculum, whether the arts of ministry, theological thought and tradition, or biblical studies/languages. 

Application Process

Applications will be received through January 15 or until the position is filled. Members of the search committee will be available for initial interviews during the AAR/SBL annual meetings in Denver on November 17-19. Candidates who apply from the greater New York area may be interviewed initially on-site at the NYTS campus; others will be interviewed initially via video conference. Finalists will be interviewed on campus in January and February. The appointment begins in July 2019.
