Systems Administrator

The American Theological Library Association (ATLA) has an opening for a full-time Systems Administrator.  Located in downtown Chicago near the Willis Tower, ATLA is a high-tech professional association supporting theological libraries and librarians while producing products in all fields of religion and theology. The position offers great benefits while working in a collegial environment.


ATLA is seeking an entry-level Systems Administrator to help manage association infrastructure including but not limited to desktops, servers, shared storage systems, email, phone systems, virtualization technology, and general networking.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line response to staff members seeking technical help
  • Tracking issues to resolution and updating the internal knowledge base
  • Deploy and maintain workstation hardware and software
  • Administer Windows servers and Active Directory environment
  • Manage data archive and backups
  • Inventory control for all IT assets
  • Office365 management
  • Phone system support
  • Prepare and manage virtual meetings and presentations
  • Assist tech staff with longer-term projects as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Workstation/server hardware configuration and maintenance
  • Windows workstation/server systems configuration and maintenance
  • Network troubleshooting
  • Cloud infrastructure administration a plus
  • Mac/Linux administration a plus
  • iOS/Android support a plus

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Science related field or equivalent job experience

Salary and Benefits

ATLA is an equal opportunity employer.  Salary range is $45,000 – $50,000 based on experience which includes an excellent benefits package.  All applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.
