Description of SLIG

The majority of the member schools in the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (ATS) have less than 150 FTE students. Many of these schools are also members of the American Theological Library Association (ATLA). Most of these participating institutions and/or individual members serving in such contexts work in a small staff environment. Library staff at small libraries need to be creative and nimble, often responsible for a wide range of duties within their context. SLIG was started to serve these libraries and staff members.

Activities of the SLIG include sessions at the ATLA annual conference and a listserv offering avenues for learning, information sharing, and fellowship. SLIG will help to foster that creativity and will continue to plan educational activities, brainstorm ideas, collaborate on projects, and provide fellowship support.
