ATLA Serials Exchange (ASE)

Description 

The ATLA Serials Exchange (ASE) allows ATLA's Institutional Members to freely exchange duplicate serials by listing materials offered in a shared database where others can view and claim materials.

How to Join 

First, make a request to Member Programs at memberrep@atla.com for your library to particpate in ASEYou will be provided an Institution Code and Password that you will use to complete your registration on the ASE site. New accounts are added nightly, so you will need to wait to start using ASE until the day after you register.

Information for Participating Members 

Login 

If your library is already registered, login in on the ASE site​ to exchange serials.  

Terms of Participation 

Participating libraries must meet the following requirements: 

  • Maintain Institutional ​membership in ATLA 

  • Post offerings at least once every 18 months 

  • If receiving claimed items, reimburse the sending institution for postage over $3. For example, if postage is $2.60, no reimbursement is necessary; if postage is $3.50, the receiving institution must reimburse the sending institution $3.50. 

When Offerings Are Available to Participants 

Offerings posted by a library will be visible only to the posting library until all postings are made visible and available to all participants simultaneously bimonthly on the following schedule: 

  • February 1  

  • April 1  

  • June 1  

  • August 1  

  • October 1  

  • December 1  ​​
