Add, Update, and Claim Serials on the Improved Atla Serials Exchange

In January 2020, Atla launched the new and improved Atla Serials Exchange (ASE). This platform allows participating libraries to offer unwanted serials from their collections to other participating libraries to claim for their own collections. This is useful for libraries currently weeding their collections or who need to complete a serial run or replace a missing or damaged issue. Participants can add, update, and claim serials through their accounts with changes being immediately visible on the site. If a library has a large number of items to add to ASE, Atla can assist with a bulk upload.

Current Institutional Members and Affiliate Candidate Libraries

How to Join

First, make a request to Member Programs for your library to participate in ASE. You will need to provide a name and email address for the ASE user account that will be created for you.

If your library is already registered, log in to the ASE site to exchange serials.

Terms of Participation

Participating libraries must meet the following requirements:

• Maintain Institutional membership in Atla
• If receiving claimed items, reimburse the sending institution according to their postage reimbursement policy posted on their institution page.

When Offerings Are Available to Participants

Offerings posted by a library will be visible immediately. If you would like to request a bulk upload of items, this can take 1-2 business days.

Not a Member?

We are offering members financial relief through optional dues reductions for the 2021 membership year. Individual-type members will have a choice to apply a discount coupon for 25, 50, 75, or 100% off their membership, while Institutional-type members may apply a discount coupon for 25% off.  We want members to experience the full value of the Atla community within their budget during these difficult times.
