Jamie Lin Joins Atla as Education and Professional Development Manager

We are pleased to introduce Jamie Lin as our new Education and Professional Development Manager on the Member Programs team.

Jamie brings a wealth of experience in instructional design and online education, joining Atla from the private-sector online higher education industry. Some of her work involved developing interactive instructional modules for the library on topics such as information literacy, before moving to the larger course-development team as an educational technology designer. She also has experience presenting webinars, designing infographics and presentations, developing best practices documentation, and facilitating training. Her areas of interest include user-centered design and online accessibility.

Jamie  served as the first presidentially-appointed Chair of the Special Libraries Association (SLA)’s inaugural Public Policy Taskforce, as well as President of the San Diego Chapter. In SLA, she worked with other board members and volunteers to grow membership through student recruitment — providing online and in-person professional development programming, planning social events that create community as well as a professional network, and encouraging students to take on leadership positions within the chapter.

Already, Jamie has proven herself a great asset to Atla, hitting the ground running working with other staff and the Conference Committee to reimagine our annual conference as Atla Annual 2020 Online. And most recently, she collaborated with members of the Professional Development Committee to analyze and share the results of their recent needs assessment survey.

Jamie describes herself as an innovative librarian, educator, and designer who loves using her skills to build relationships, tell stories, and engage, motivate, and collaborate with others. She has a BA in English from Wellesley College, a BFA in Music Technology from the California Institute of the Arts, and an MLIS from San Jose State University.
