Announcing the Launch of the New ASE

Atla Serials Exchange (ASE) has been upgraded and relaunched at https://ase.atla.com. This new site reflects changes asked for by members in a user survey distributed in early 2018 as well as other useful features, including the following:

• Real-time posting of offerings
• Institutions can remove items when they are no longer available and claimed items will automatically be removed
• Filtering by ISSN to view all offerings of one serial
• Sorting by most recently added items
• Improved data entry
• Improved search
• Contact information for offering institutions (if provided)

About ASE

ASE is a free program exclusively for Atla Institutional and Affiliate Candidate Libraries Members and permits those institutions to offer unwanted serials from their collections, and other institutions to claim those serials for their own collections. This program is useful for libraries who are currently weeding their collections or who need to complete a serial run or replace a missing or damaged issue. Institutions claiming serials may be required to reimburse the offering institution for postage per that institution’s postage policy as stated on their profile in ASE.

Current & Future Users

Emails have been sent to all registered users of ASE with instructions on how to access, including their new user name and password, as well as instructions on updating their profile in ASE.

Institutional members wishing to resume or start participation in ASE or who did not receive an email from ASE with their account details should contact us to request an account.

Atla will host a webinar on February 26 on how to use the new ASE. All current and interested participants in ASE should register to attend or to receive the link to the recording.
