Welcome New Members: Thorneloe University, Carey Baptist College, and Brewton-Parker College

This month, we’d like to introduce a few of our new Institutional Members! Please join us in welcoming the institutions that have joined Atla in recent months.
Institutional Member Thorneloe University
Located in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, Thorneloe University is affiliated with the Anglican Church of Canada. The university was established in 1961 and is situated on the Laurentian University campus. Although in the past Thorneloe offered multiple programs, including Ancient Studies, Classical Studies, Religious Studies, and Women’s Gender & Sexuality Studies, it currently only offers its School of Theology program.

Institutional Member Carey Baptist College
Founded in 1926, Carey Baptist College is located in Penrose, Auckland, New Zealand. They offer a number of qualifications in areas such as the Bible, theology, ministry, and mission, and have a robust online program, allowing their students to study from anywhere. The college is also committed to its bi-cultural heritage and to its Māori programs. The Ayson Clifford Library is named after James Ayson Clifford, who was the Carey Principal from 1961 to 1973. They provide a range of scholarly materials for their students and also host the New Zealand Baptist Archive. The NZ Baptist Archive provides an understanding of the family, or whānau, of the New Zealand Baptists.

Institutional Member Brewton-Parker College
Brewton-Parker College was founded in 1904 and originally taught grades one through eleven. However, as the institution grew and upper-level classes and programs were added, it slowly transitioned over the years to become a four-year college institution in 1986. The Brewton-Parker Fountain-New Library is an invaluable resource for its students, and regularly hosts traveling museum exhibits on various historical topics.
