Atla ‘Summary of Proceedings’ and ‘Yearbook’ for 2020 Now Available

I am excited to announce the publication of the Summary of Proceedings — the official record of Atla Annual 2020. This year’s Proceedings marks two departures from previous editions. First, due to the COVID pandemic, the 2020 conference was held online via Zoom, so each of the presenters had to adapt their sessions for a completely virtual audience. Second, you may notice that you are seeing this announcement earlier than you have in previous years. For the first time, the submission and production schedule for the Proceedings was moved to mid-July, closely following the end of the conference, in order to publish the Proceedings by December. Between the covers, both physical and virtual, you will find presented papers, conversation groups, listen and learn sessions, and the posters available for your reading pleasure. Each of these formats offers the best thinking and work of Atla members and lets you hear the many voices that contribute to our ongoing conversations about theological librarianship.

As the 2020 Proceedings are published, I would like to thank the members of the Atla staff who guided me through the editing process: Race MoChridhe, Tawny Burgess, and Christine Fruin. Atla’s ongoing commitment to making the Proceedings a fully open access publication makes all of us better connectors and collectors in religion and theology. I would also like to thank the writers who contributed to this volume for their time and thoughtfulness.

Atla members kept busy this past year outside the conference as well, however, serving on the Association’s various committees and task forces and contributing to many denominational and special interest groups. The annual Yearbook, also now available, records all of this vital work, offering a great opportunity to catch up with colleagues’ efforts and, perhaps, to get some new ideas for participating in the Atla community in 2021!
