In a continuation of our September webinar “Creating Patron-Driven Acquisitions For Your Library,” Dr. Jeffrey Waldrop, now Dean of the Mercer University Libraries, describes how he brought the PDA model originally developed at Fuller Seminary to a much larger and different institution.
This webinar will discuss how to partner with faculty and other stakeholders to encourage the adoption of a PDA model, restructure budgets and staff in support of it, and reflect the diversity of changing student bodies and online education through a balance of print and e-textbooks. This webinar will take place on Thursday, February 18, 2021, at 12 p.m. CST.
Dr. Jeffrey Waldrop currently serves as Dean of the University Libraries and Associate Professor of Church History at Mercer University. Mercer maintains campuses throughout Georgia, including Macon, Atlanta, Savannah, Columbus, and Henry and Douglas Counties. He previously served as the Associate Provost and Director of the David Allan Hubbard Library and Assistant Professor of Church History at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California.
Dr. Waldrop brings to his teaching and scholarship a passion for intercultural awareness and a desire to see learning and growth through free academic exchange. He believes that libraries sit at the intersection of technology, research, and education trends, and are in a position to meet the needs of today’s researchers, students, and faculty by incorporating acquisition models and services that are both patron-driven and primarily cloud-based.
