The history of women at General Theological Seminary is rich, fascinating, and evolving. Though barred from attending as students until the 1970s, women carved out their own space on campus, and students such as Peggy Muncie and Pauli Murray continued on to make great contributions to the Episcopal Church. Using special collections to piece together stories of the first female staff, members, faculty, and students of General Theological Seminary, presenter Melissa Chim weaves a more complete view of the seminary’s history through the records of these women’s activities.
