Systems and Serials Librarian
The Paul Bechtold Library at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago is looking for someone to become our Systems and Serials Librarian. In this newly created position, the Systems and Serials Librarian is the primary point person for the administration of Alma, our library services platform, and responsible for collaborating across the library to provide technical support and training for Alma within CTU. To accomplish this, s/he will be the certified system administrator for Alma, and work on maintaining and improving the services of Alma to better support library accessibility. S/he will also manage the electronic and print serials collection of the library. This position reports to the Library Director.
The ideal candidate has a Masters in Library Science and experience with integrated library systems, Open Athens, and administration of authentication and security. S/he will also be skilled in troubleshooting and problem solving. The person will be able to work with a diverse set of stakeholders on issues related to maintenance, authentication, and administration of technology systems. The candidate must have a willingness for continual learning, development, and application of additional expertise through work related experiences and professional development opportunities.
