Atla’s committees, councils, and task forces work to achieve Atla’s Mission and Organizational Ends. They are appointed by the Executive Director and are an integral part of the Association.
The Nature and Aims of the Atla World Religions Interest Group (WRIG): An Official Statement
The Atla WRIG understands itself to be concerned primarily with: (a) the role of theological libraries in the study of world religions; (b) the on-going education of theological librarians in the field of world religions; and (c) helping Atla expand its presence among a broader cross-section of librarians by means of the opportunities for professional enrichment it will offer in the field of world religions.
All of these aims are limited to the central concerns as delineated above, in most cases with the library patrons being the primary beneficiaries.
