Atla’s membership includes more than 800 individuals and libraries at academic institutions from diverse religious traditions and backgrounds.
Atla is governed by an elected board of directors, including four long-standing Board committees and one short-term committee all mandated by the Board’s Policy Manual.
Atla’s committees, councils, and task forces work to achieve Atla’s Mission and Organizational Ends. They are appointed by the Executive Director and are an integral part of the Association.

The Global Librarians Grant supports attendance at Atla Annual.
$1,000 USD will be awarded to any Atla Student or Individual Member.
Limited funds available. Applications are reviewed by a member of the Conference Committee and Atla staff on a rolling basis starting the week of February 17 and weekly thereafter until funds exhausted.
Applicants will receive preference if all the other selection criteria are equal if they have not previously received an Atla grant. Responses to the following questions will be evaluated:
Individual or Student Members in good standing as of January 1 of the conference year are eligible to apply for this program.
Applicants must be working full-time or part-time in a library supporting religious studies or theological higher education programs in a country classified with a Low, Lower Middle, or Upper Middle income economy as defined by the World Bank as of January 2020.
