Drawing on the scholarly practices of multimodal composition rooted in rhetoric and writing studies, Dr. Elkie will provide a working definition of multimodal scholarship as one method toward expanding worldwide scholarly communication in your role as an information provider. By looking at both examples of existing open access work and tips on how to conceptualize and create multimodal projects, participants will leave this session with a digital tip sheet on how multimodal scholarship of all kinds can provide opportunities for collaboration, diversity, inclusion, and transformation in various ways – ranging from your own scholarly projects to supporting and curating projects for others.
