Digitizing Catholic Collections: 2021 – A Survey from the Catholic Research Resources Alliance (CRRA)

The 2021 deadline to complete the Catholic Research Resources Alliance (CRRA)’s Digital Catholic survey has been extended to FEBRUARY 8, 2022.

Since 2011, when CRRA surveyed Digitized Rare Catholica, there has been an explosion in the development of new tools for digitization which has led to an enthusiastic response from scholars gaining access to digital collections, as well as the delight of archivists and librarians in showcasing their unique collections. How has this development affected our institutions and our work? Is collaboration still as important as it once was? How similar or dissimilar are current projects from those in the past?

This survey will gather current information regarding the digitization of Catholic materials and the development of digital collections created by and held at US and Canadian Catholic colleges and universities, and related organizations and associations. Survey results will be posted on the CRRA website.

Please note that all responses will be anonymous, and only aggregate results will be shared when the results have been compiled and analyzed. CRRA will analyze the data by institution so if you have colleagues who you would like to also complete the survey, please pass it along. Please be sure all respondents fill in the institution name in question 20. The survey should take about fifteen minutes to complete and you may start, stop, and resume at any time.
